This month’s holiday issue of Hills&Hamlets magazine features a profile article of The Henningsens including a photo by yours truly. Those of you who are not yet familiar with The Henningsens are going to soon be a small minority. This songwriting family and performing trio are taking Nashville by storm!
I became acquainted with father Brian and son and daughter Aaron and Clara first at a group interview session at NSAI while working on the book The Nashville Songwriter. They struck me immediately as wonderful people, blossoming writers, and up-and-coming performers to watch. During their interview and photo shoot they sang You Lie, which has gone on to be a huge hit for The Band Perry and the fifth most popular country song released in 2011. They also co-wrote four other songs on The Band Perry’s debut album.
The shots below were taken during the Nashville Songwriter interview session on their front porch in Primm Springs, Tennessee.
Speaking of Primm Springs, check out this album on my Facebook page featuring shots made at Primmstock, the Henningsens’ annual family friendly music festival at their home in Primm Springs, where they converted a tobacco barn into an outdoor stage. For the full story on how they came to Tennessee, be sure to read the Hills&Hamlets feature story on page 7.
The Henningsens announced Monday that they had signed a recording deal with Sony Music Nashville and it couldn’t have happened to a more deserving or talented trio.
